Filter Process for State-specific Mortgage Information Requests

To avoid redundancies and duplication in the SES Library, agencies are being supported before adding mortgage state-specific IRs to the system. This applies only to state-specific IRs under "Mortgage Origination" or "Mortgage Servicing." The mortgage state-specific request will be shared with CSBS support users who will assist the agency in determining whether there is a comparable standard that they can use in lieu of the state-specific IR. The process is detailed below:

  1. The agency submits a state-specific mortgage IR request via the SES Library. See Adding a State-specific Mortgage Information Request to the Library for more information.
  2. CSBS compares the agency state-specific mortgage IR to the SES Standard Mortgage IRs to see if there is a match. See Agency Library: Key Concepts, Features, and Management for more information.
    Note: CSBS will respond to the agency within a reasonable timeframe.
  3. The agency receives an email notification stating either:
    1. The review is complete and the state-specific mortgage IR is available for use in the SES Library.
    2. CSBS needs input from the Mortgage Examination Working Group to make a determination.
    3. CSBS has identified a comparable SES Standard Mortgage IR and encourages its use in lieu of the state-specific mortgage IR.

If CSBS needs input from the Mortgage Examination Working Group to make a determination, the Mortgage Examination Working Group will review the IR at their next monthly meeting and determine if the state-specific mortgage IR can be used in SES or if it is a candidate for a new SES Standard Mortgage IR.

If CSBS has identified a comparable SES Standard Mortgage IR and encourages its use in lieu of the state-specific mortgage IR and the agency does not agree with CSBS' findings, the agency may request that CSBS support users present the state-specific mortgage IR to the Mortgage Examination Working Group for review. Submit the request to the Regulatory User Group for agency support with this process.
